How to install it
- Make sure your browser's bookmarks bar is visible. On most browsers, press Ctrl+Shift+B (or Cmd+Shift+B on a Mac) to show it.
- Drag the purple button above and drop it onto your bookmarks bar.
- That is it. The bookmark is saved and ready to use on any site.
How to use it
- On any web page, highlight the text you want to count.
- Click the UltraWordCounter bookmark in your bookmarks bar.
- UltraWordCounter opens in a new tab with your highlighted text loaded, and the word count, character count, reading time, and readability are ready instantly.
Why it is safe
The bookmarklet only reads the text you highlight, and only when you click it. It sends that text to UltraWordCounter in the link and nothing else. Your text is never uploaded to a server, the counting happens right in your browser.
